Def Jam slashed Rihanna`s Rated R album to $3.99 pre-sale earlier this week. Then on its release date, they slashed the price to $0.99. Many sources are reporting it`s because of the low projections of sales( around 160k but numbers are not in yet). 160,000 may seem like a lot of albums but not when you compare it to the amount Def Jam has paid in production/promotion! I guess all the Chris Brown bashing in the world couldn’t help the sales and honestly does it count if you sold 500,000 copies at 99 cents? She even went on Angie Martinez and finally addressed her nudes (you can read about that here ), I guess that interview with Diana Sawyer didn’t work either! Then I came to the startling conclusion that she never came to Ihiphop.com for a featured interview so the correlation with failure made sense!…Or maybe her album just sucks?
