Diddy Dominates “New Music Industry” In The Real World & Hollywood

Diddy, or as I like to call him The Diddler, ain’t no idiot.  I’m just happy to see one of the major people in the music industry doing something proactive as opposed to reactive.  Diddy used to make money off of artists by selling their music on Bad Boy Records.  But guess what?  People aren’t really that into paying for music anymore.  Does that mean artists are any less valuable?  No, it just mean that you have to go through different lanes to monetize them.  So what is Diddy doing now?  He’s managing artists.  That video upload to Vevo?  Diddy’s getting a cut.  That headlining international tour/merchandise?  Diddy’s getting a cut.  That liquor/clothing sponsorship deal?  Diddy’s getting a cut.  There is money to be made in this business, there are just a lot of people with old attitudes going about getting it in the wrong way.  I’ve touched on this before.  It’s just nice to see Diddy be one of the first to wisen up.

Also check two funny scenes involving the Diddler in the upcoming Get Him To The Greek movie which drops June 4th.  Scope the synopsis below.

  • In Get Him to the Greek, record exec Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) has three days to drag uncooperative rock god Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) to L.A.’s world famous Greek Theatre for the first stop on a huge comeback tour. As the countdown to the concert begins, one innocent young man must navigate a minefield of London drug smuggles, New York City brawls and Vegas lap dances to deliver his charge safe and, sort of, sound.  The comedy is the latest from director Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Superbad).
