Copywrite Is Still At It A Decade Later

So if you’ve been following my articles you now probably realize that I have a strong love for the “underground” hip-hop scene.  I’ve been listening to that backpack ‘ish for almost 15 years.  “The High Exhaulted” by Copywrite, dropped in 2002 and is a beast album that got a fair amount of press.  It had great production from RJD2, DJ Mighty Mi, and Copywrite himself. It also had some great features, especially from the late Camu Tao and Jakki Da Motamouth.  The track “F*ck Soundcheck” is a track I still bump to this day.

Copywrite just dropped this track “Last Laugh.”  This is just a taste off “T.H.E High Exhaulted 8th Anniversary Edition“, dropping June 1st, which celebrates 8 years since the original “The High Exhaulted” dropped.  Too bad the original album is out of print, because from what I assume, the music industry has no clue, but I digress….

His new LP entitled “The Life and Times of Peter Nelson” which is scheduled to drop sometime this fall on Man Bites Dog Records/O.D.O.T. Records is hopefully going to be another great album.  I’m pretty excited honestly for this dude to come back hard into the picture.  He sprang up in ’98 in Ohio, of all places at that time,  and has been consistently putting out good music and grinding in his own lane ever since.  That’s why I decided to give him some shine, and because that first album had a real effect on my earlier days.  From what I’ve heard this new album will feature production from RJD2, Marco Polo, Illmind, Jake One, and others.  With reported features from Royce Da 5’9, Sean Price, and the O-Dot crew.  Let me know what you think as always.
