Jeezy Signs Freddie Gibbs?

According to XXL:

• Freddie Gibbs, is on the verge of signing to Young Jeezy’s CTE Record label.

To be honest I hope this isn’t true.  One thing that I really like about Freddie is how independent and outspoken he has been.  He seemed more like the type of rapper that wouldn’t sign under the umbrella of another rapper.

Especially considering Jeezy has has a sh*tty history signing acts in my opinion.  Jeezy is struggling enough to remain relevant himself.  I don’t see how he can pop off other artists.  That being said, maybe Freddie has nothing to lose.  Even though I like his music I get the vibe his hype > reality.  I know all the elitists rap nerd bloggers love the guy, but I’m not too sure he is popping in the outlets that actually matter.  I guess we will just have to wait and see how Freddie’s career develops.  While I’m not sure this is the best move I wish him the best.  Be sure to check out Freddie’s Str8 Killa No Filla mixtape.
