Serge: One of my staff picks this week is going to a movie I had no interest in seeing; and that movie is Battleship… I originally went to the movies this weekend to see The Avengers, which was great… But afterward, I had more time to kill, so we checked out Battleship as well… I can’t lie the way they worked in the Battleship game theme was cool, and even Rihanna did a good job… If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out.

I’m gonna go back to my musical roots for my second pick, which goes out to a newcomer we posted on the site over the weekend.. That person is Brooklyn native, Dillon Cooper… So far, I don’t know too much about him, but that will soon change… If you haven’t heard his joint ‘The Shadows Pt.2’ do your eardrums a favor, and treat them to some good music….

jGerson: This week I was vibing with the latest leak from Curren$y’s upcoming album “Capitol” featuring 2 Chainz. Spitta’s ear for the beats proves to be on point again as he fades out on the track with the artist formerly known as Tity Boi. I actually think 2 Chainz sounds dope over laidback production like this as opposed to more trapped out beats. I was also feeling “We Ain’t Them” by Childish Gambino which is also a chill song. Aside from those tracks, I was into the music video for “Terrorist Threats” by Ab-Soul. The song is pretty tripped out and definitely illustrates Ab’s originality. Plus Danny Brown went on it, too.

Euro_Perez:
I wasn’t really feeling any new music this week, but the NBA Playoffs are always interesting. My team, the Lakers, are down and might lose the series as well. But now that it getting closer to the chip. you wonder if Lebron will get that ring.
Also interesting this week was Will Smith smacking that reporter, which was funny and unusual in that you never see Will get flustered by anything. He proves it by simply smacking the guy and laughing it off.

J Harmony:
It’s been a quiet week for most people, except for 2 Chainz and Donald Glover. 2 Chainz continues to stay relevant on a weekly basis. This week alone we were graced with his video for “Murder” featuring Kreayshawn along with a slew of different features, including “I’m Up” with Gucci Mane and “Breakfast” off of Kreayshawn’s upcoming debut album. The guy has a SERIOUS work ethic that no lie, simply can’t be ignored. TRU!

This week we also got to hear some new tracks from Childish Gambino, actor/comedian Donald Glover’s rapper alter-ego. In addition to dropping “Unnecessary” featuring ScHoolboy Q, Gambino redid his website, iamdonald.com following a Kanye-like Twitter rant where he touched on his upbringing and Trayvon Martin among other things. The new website features an interesting drawing of what appears to be Childish, looking at Drake’s Take Care album artwork. In addition to the drawing, the website features one of jGerson’s picks, “We Ain’t Them,” Gambino’s latest and possibly one of his strongest offerings to date. Outside of his blossoming rap career, Glover is also known for his role as Troy in the comedy show Community. Earlier this week, the show capped off its third season with a three-episode marathon.
