In the continuing celebration of Tupac’s life, his new album Pac’s Life and his work, 2pac’s mother Afeni Shakur and Amaru/Interscope Records are announcing a contest asking for the best artwork, essay, poetry and music videos honoring 2pac’s work. The contest will be held by newly launched website, TupacContests.com, and is asking fans to submit entries in four categories: Music Video (creating a clip for the album’s "Untouchable" track), Artwork, Essay and Poetry.
"With Tupac as our inspiration, the goal is to spark creativity and stimulate conversation," said Afeni Shakur, his mother and founder of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, "as well as to continue to develop, expand and interact with the extraordinary community of Tupac fans."
Fans will be able to upload their entries into the website. The winners will be announced in early 2007 and will have their work displayed at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and will receive a commemorative plaque of the release of Pac’s Life. In addition, the music video winner will submit a treatment for and appear in an upcoming Tupac video, the artwork, essay and poetry winners will have their work and an interview published in the upcoming Tupac Interview book to drop in 2007 by Atria Books. The artwork winner will also be invited to submit the winning drawing or another piece for a subsequent Tupac album while the Essay and Poetry winners will have their work published in a forthcoming textbook about Tupac.
