50 Cent may have shocked the Hip-Hop world when he performed alongside Soulja Boy on the America’s Most Wanted Tour, but his (not so) surprise performance at a public school is sending shockwaves through the spines of conservative journalists.  The always classy New York Post was the first to break the story of Curtis performing at PS 40 in Queens and made the event sound more like a massacre (no pun intended, Curtis) than a rap concert by taking quotes from “concerned citizens” afraid of the violence that might erupt.  One potential concert attendee, who must have been an expert on street crime said, “someone’s going to try to make a name for themselves…they’re going to take a shot at [50], and they’re either going to hit him or they’re going to miss him and hit some poor, innocent kid or grandmother.”

I know you couldn’t catch my grandma at a 50 Cent concert, but apparently the concert is supposed to be held for “family day” – because nothing says “family” like a goon wearing a bulletproof vest singing about his “Magic Stick” and how he “Gets It In.”

Well after a large public outcry from people who think a 50 Cent show will cause a full-scale shootout, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg assured citizens that there will be no concert.  Apparently 50 Cent(or “50 Cents” as Bloomberg calls him) will just make a public appearance at the event and Bloomberg wanted everyone to know they can “rest assured” because the NYPD  will be on hand for the event.  Bloomberg added, “if people want to get together and have a rap concert, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
