The long awaited album, The Wonder Years, by Grammy award winning producer 9th Wonder has been delayed time and time again but the firm release date for the album is September 27, 2011. 9th Wonder’s own record label It’s A Wonderful World Music will be releasing this project. The solo debut album will feature artists such as: David Banner, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Murs, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Warren G, Big K.R.I.T, Marsha Ambrosius, Big Remo, Rapsody, and former Little Brother group member, Phonte Coleman.
In a statement about this album, 9th Wonder said:
“If there was ever a better time to express how I feel about hip-hop music, black music, or just music in general……it would be to do it now….on this project. My career has been from the depths of the underground, to the pop charts, but it has always stayed my sound, and what I believed in to be pure……..welcome to the Wonder Years.”
Not to be confused with this album, the documentary The Wonder Year about 9th Wonder’s career and past with rap group Little Brother has been released recently.
