Album Sales Of The Week of 10/9/2012 (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mellowhype, MGK, Xzibit)

Gotta kick this post off by giving major props to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Moving nearly 80,000 units is not easy for any artist in todays day and age, let alone an independent one. The Heist is still the number one Hip-Hop album in the country beating MGK’s highly anticipated debut Lace Up, which moved just over 50,000 units. The west coast also made a little noise this week with Mellowhype (Hodgy Beats & Left Brain) selling 8177 copies of their new album Numbers as well as the OG west coast vet X to the Z who moved 3189 copies of Napalm, his first album since 2006’s Full Circle.

New Music: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song)” feat. Ed Sheeran

\ So... Macklemore's back apparently. After hitting it big in 2012-2013 with a pair of hit songs ("Same Love," "Thrift Shop") Macklemore and his coconspirator Ryan Lewis return with "Growing Up (Sloane's Song)," featuring another current hit-maker in Ed Sheeran. No word as to whether or not "Growing Up" will be on any upcoming project. Listen to the new Macklemore and Ryan Lewis track "Growing Up" after the jump.

MGK's long-awaited follow up to his 2011 debut album Lace Up is finally heating up and MGK is sharing a star studded, heavyweight feature track in "Till I Die Pt. II." Here MGK, an Ohio native through and through (he moved around a lot as a youth but stuck with Cleveland in the end), is joined by local legends Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Memphis' very own Yo Gotti, Ray Cash and of course, the enigmatic French Montana. This is a dark, brooding video shot entirely in black-and-white, that perfectly accompany the menacing track. Check it out after the jump.

Does anyone know exactly what the current situation is with Ohio rapper Machine Gun Kelly? After dropping Lace Up in 2012 he's become quite the reclusive, dropping only a handful of music since. He released his eight mixtape Black Flag in 2013 and hasn't done much in the way of projects. Is he still on Bad Boy? Is he even rapping anymore? MGK looks to answer those questions in 2015 as he drops "Against the World," a new single. Check it out after the jump.
