Gotta kick this post off by giving major props to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Moving nearly 80,000 units is not easy for any artist in todays day and age, let alone an independent one. The Heist is still the number one Hip-Hop album in the country beating MGK’s highly anticipated debut Lace Up, which moved just over 50,000 units. The west coast also made a little noise this week with Mellowhype (Hodgy Beats & Left Brain) selling 8177 copies of their new album Numbers as well as the OG west coast vet X to the Z who moved 3189 copies of Napalm, his first album since 2006′s Full Circle.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis “The Heist” -  78,479 (83% Digital)

MGK “Lace Up” -  50,668  (52% Digital) [read review]

Mellowhype “Numbers” – 8,177  (65% Digital)

Xzibit “Napalm” – 3,189 (48% Digital)
