MySpace Disappears iMeem
Now that the buyout has happened, if you try going to imeem, all you get is a page saying “welcome to myspace music”

All the artist pages, playlists, essentially, all the millions of user-hours that went into creating the site have been pillaged by News Corp., for a couple of intelligent functions/features of imeem that will eventually be integrated into the myspace music platform.  It seems that the deal for myspace to buy imeem only made sense if imeem shutdown, because… you guessed it… they had NO monetization model that made anything close to cents sense, let alone dollars.

Apple buys LaLa
Apple is throwing their hand back into the development of music / streaming technology.  Already owning lots of digital music real-estate with the monster that is iTunes, Apple has now bought streaming music / social based site LaLa for an undiscolsed amount (reports vary between $17 million and $80 million).  There’s lots of speculation around about what is going to happen, and if they (apple + lala) are going to try and move into the streaming video market.

Russel Simmons’ GlobalGrind buys CelebrityTweet.com
I guess this is important?…  I mean, it fits into this little niche that I cover, between music, tech, entertainment, hip-hop,…  But I can’t REALLY find a way to care too much about this, or put too much deep thought into this one.  Unless I found out how much Russell paid for celebritytweet.   Talk about content aggregators, I mean, why do you need to buy a site that indexes other people’s tweets…  You could do that yourself, right?  hmmn…

Anyway, until next time, peace
