Album Sales week of 4/7/09

MIMS “Guilt” – 12,411 (your career is over?)

And in other industry news (aka me following the death of traditional media):
• The Times Co. has registered losses of up to $85 million for the Boston Globe (via Slate)

Warner Music Group rethinks deal with myspace (via Hypebot)
– File this one under: another step down the path of “there is no future for the recorded music industry”… all the major labels struck streaming deals with myspace.  Warner asked to be paid via ad revenue share… a novel idea.  it’s not working…

• Live Nation Continues to grow (via Billboard.biz)
– The Concert giant struck a deal with Cable conglomerate Comcast for 20 shows at the Dodge Music Center Comcast Theater in Hartford

• Yahoo to cut several hundred jobs (via Billboard.biz)
– These are the first big job cuts of the new year for the internet search giant

As usual, get at me with questions and comments.  Until next time, peace.
