DISCLAIMER: Alright, so I’m on Jury duty this week.  6+ hours in the courtroom is too much for me to handle, so I’ll post up these numbers when I can.  By the time I’m out, I’m sure most of you will have found this info somewhere already, but here are the albums I’m curious about sales-wise this week:

Online Radio trending up
Further proof that streaming music is the instant gratification solution to how people will be consuming music… the question (as always) is, can it be profitable for artists…

Ringtone sales went down 24% from ’07 to ’08 from $714 million to $541 million.  An interesting shift in the market… is this recession related?  or are people just getting tired of it… I know I am

Reinvigorating album sales
Looks like the major labels are trying to create a new digital content format that would include video, lyrics, artwork etc… They tried to holler at Apple, but they’re already working on Cocktail (which I wrote about a couple weeks ago), to go with their Tablet computer.
Would you be more likely to buy an album for $9.99 if you would get lyrics, artwork and videos as part of the download package?
