I feel bad for this guy, he worked so hard to have it all taken away. According to People magazine “American Idol” contestant from St. Petersburg has been cut from the show for reportedly violating a confidentiality agreement.

Michael Lynche (aka Big Mike) reportedly was dropped from the top 24 finalists after his father told the St. Petersburg Times that Lynche, who now lives in New York, was a finalist.

“Idol” rules state that singers and their families cannot reveal the Hollywood week results until after the programs are broadcast.

Several sources including the New York Post say Michael was replaced in the top 24 over the weekend. Fox has declined to comment on the report.

Lynche auditioned in Orlando but was not seen on last week’s “Idol” episode from the Amway Arena.

In an interview on the “Idol” Web site, he says that he spent years sitting on the couch watching the show and wondering if he had what it takes to be on “American Idol.”

Lynche was a star football player at Gibbs High School. His mother, Michele Lynche, was a community columnist for the Times. She died in 2004.
