The recession is hitting the Print industry hard people. In the space of a month three magazines have shut up shop due to dwindling ad sales and disappointing subscriptions. These include Urb, Blender and now the magazine Hugh Hefner labeled ‘The Black Playboy’ KING is closing up shop with its May edition.
The magazine which has faced negativity due to the portrayal of the semi-naked women it is known for is a part of the Harris Publications Group which is also home to XXL and SLAM as well as the now defunct Scratch Magazine.
