G UnitDismal sales of the sophomore album from G Unit are being blamed on Interscope who allegedly only shipped 100,000 units of the album within the US. The album which went on sale last week is expected to move 110,000 units, disappointing numbers for 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo who were hoping to at least rival Lil Wayne’s first week numbers for his Carter III project which sold in excess of a million within the first week. There has been reports of the album selling out in places such as Best Buy and Target, but why Interscope would want to avoid making money by shipping inadequate units doesn’t sound right somehow.
