What up.  So last night I was lucky enough to be invited to Joe Budden‘s Padded Room listening party.  First off I would like to say that I can’t stick with my judgment 100% because it was in a crowded restaurant and shit, but I was a little disappointed to be honest.  It just seemed a little bland especially on the production side and only a few tracks stuck out mainly “The Future” featuring The Game, which I’m sure many of you have heard.  I completely respect Joe Budden‘s lyrical capabilities, but I’ve always felt he lacks the qualities that make a star.  He lacks the extremely distinguishable voice and delivery.  However, I respect the fact he made an album that completely represented himself, and didn’t try to force out an album that would necessarily succeed commercially.  Plus it is obvious that Joe is one of the few rappers that “gets it”.  He understands that the music business is changing, and instead of complaining he is changing with it.  He is good at avoiding all the bullshit and traps of the business, so that he presents himself in a way that fans might be willing to take money out of their own pocket and buy an album which would probably be easier for them to steal.  That in itself is an accomplishment.  Feel free to send me your music in mp3 format at featuredaudio@ihiphop.com.  After that diatribe I’ll be brief.

-This B Real track featuring Damian Marley is a must have for any smokers.  Actually it’s pretty much just a must have.

-North Carolina’s Rain goes in pretty hard on 50‘s “Get It In” instrumental.  Be on the lookout for Rain in ’09.  Dre fucks with him so you should to.

-Lil Kim‘s whorish rhymes never cease to amaze me.

-As much of a Uncle Murda hater I’ve been the dude has been growing on me a little.

-I don’t really like Michael Jackson and I don’t really like remixes, but this K-Salaam & Beatnik‘s remix of “Never Say Goodbye” is pretty ill.  There are no samples in this people.  The boy Beatnik is a mastermind.
