What’s Good. This first paragraph is the same as yesterday, but whatever. A lot of good music came out today, but before we jump into it, I have a couple quick things to say. Above is the graphic for the K-Salaam & Just Blaze show going down this Thursday at Sutra in the LES of Manhattan. To get your ass on the list hit up K-Salaam at ksalaam.123@gmail.com. You know I’ll be there, and you never know who else you may run into. All aspiring hip-hoppers can hit me with one or two tracks at featuredaudio@crackspace.net. They must be original beats, in mp3 format, and not completely whack. It helps if you link your ihiphop page as well. Let’s do this.
-This Banner joint is pretty nice. Banner is still one of the few rappers in hip-hop who actively tries to improve his community, so you should support the dude.
-Term is just sooooo dope. His album Politics As Usual hit stores today and you should actually pay for it. The dude has been grindin forever, and you should show him some love. Cinematic dropped a joint between him and Pete Rock which you can cop here.
-Tony Yayo is a complete clown, but since he is a clown he does manage to entertain me occasionally. This track just goes hard, and the “I’m the original Jamaican Don Dotta” sample from Belly at the beginning of the track is ill. I was waiting for someone to sample that. Plus there is the real reason I like this track; Prodigy and Nyce are on it. This is off of Yayo’s mixtape S.O.D. which dropped today, but I’ve been to busy to actually listen to it. If it’s any good check back tomorrow, and I’ll throw the tape on the site (as I sit in front of the computer and do the Yayo dance).
-This Curren$y and Freck collabo was a great idea. It was actually such a good idea that my expectations for the song were way to high. This song is dope and everything, but I was expecting some classic type shit. “Bitch I got that drug flow/ spit that shit that make them bitches eyes roll.”
-I don’t care how gay you think I am, but this John Legend song is awesome. I’m also an Estelle fan, and she rolls through on this joint. I like the little reggae touch they put on this. If I had a girlfriend this would be the soundtrack to a very special finger-banging session.
-Another joint from DJ Babu’s Duck Season 3 which drops 10/28. I don’t know too much about DJ Babu, but I know Bishop Lamont is the truth.
-Title track off of Scarface‘s album Emeritus . If you don’t immediately download this there is something wrong with you. You motherfuckers are always complaining about there not being any good music when it’s right in front of you.
