So, I saw this tumblr post about Ice Cube’s song “Today Was A Good Day” and thought it was random and funny as hell, it kind of makes sense, too. In order to find the date of Ice Cube’s “Good Day,” they broke down parts of the song and explained their reasoning. For those who haven’t seen nor heard the song it’s on the bottom! Do you guys agree with them?

Cory Gunz was arrested Saturday afternoon for possession of a firearm in The Bronx. Under New York law, the charge carries a mandatory three-years in prison. His father Peter Gunz spoke to MTV about the arrest:
The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx. They caught him around 2p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack. It was definitely an illegal search.
I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out”. According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around. What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory, actually happened to be a cool dude. After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation.
At the end of the day, there’s a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it’s mandatory jail time. To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through. This is Cory’s first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them.
Since his arrest, Cory Gunz has been released on bail. This morning, the Young Money member spoke with the NY Daily News on his arrest:
“This was a big mistake on my part. I didn’t have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this. It’s been really hard, really stressful. When the smoke finally clears people will understand what was going on.”
If convicted, he can face up to fifteen years in prison.
Iggy elaborated on her deal with Billboard’s The Juice. Currently, Iggy is working on her debut album, The New Classic (slated for June).
“It’s a family and it’s a long-term commitment,” Iggy tells The Juice. “People aren’t just asking you to sign for one album. They’re asking you to sign for like three or four, sometimes five and that’s like a marriage.”
“I think they [labels] have things that they specialize in. Def Jam, I love. I was super close to signing with them. I think they’re just the best team. I think they’re really passionate about what they do and you can just tell that they’re so hungry over there. But then you look at who they’ve got signed to their label and it kind of makes you be like, ‘I don’t know. Am I going to be the guinea pig here for this?’ I don’t know.”
Korg introduced their new Kaossilator 2, a palm-sized synthesizer that is played via a Kaoss x/y touchpad.
The Kaossilator 2 combines PCM drums, modeling synthesis and two crossfade-able Loop Recorder banks. The Kaossilator 2′s Dual Loop Recording Banks can overdub your touchpad performances as many times as you like. By adding layer upon layer to a simple phrase, you can create complex loops and then save them using the microSD data slot.
“Boasting a powered-up sound generator, kaossilator 2 delivers synth and drum sounds spanning a wide range of genres, plus dramatically expanded loop recording. kaossialtor 2 is packed with capabilities that can be enjoyed alone on or together with other people. Use two loops to create DJ-like mixes. Use the internal mic to record guitar, vocal, or other audio source — just as with a looper effect. The Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) display provides superb visibility. Add to that a touch slider for ease of use, microSD card data saving, plus a built-in speaker and mic. All of these features reflect the enhancements incorporated into the sleek and exciting kaossialtor 2.”
