It’s been seven years since Saafir released an album. The Bay area emcee, who repped with his crew Hobo Junction and ripped the Hieroglyphics crew by himself in an all day rap battle in the 90’s, battled spinal cancer to close out the decade and kept him out the game to concentrate on his health. Now fully healed and with a new outlook on life, Saafir’s new album, Good Game: The Transition, is set to drop on October 31 on ABB records.

“This record is the kind of record where either you gonna be with me or you’re not. It ain’t gonna be no in between” Saafir said. “The album is really about the transition from ignorance to understanding, from darkness to light.”

During Saafir’s sickness he also reflected on his life and wanted to make a change. He committed his life to Islam and found the spirituality that his life was lacking. For more information, check it out here.
