iHipHop AdminBig Sean’s listening party at the Standard Hotel in NYC was one of the most insane listening sessions i’ve been to. Sean’s Def Jam debut, Finally Famous will be released June 28th, featuring production from No I.D., Pop Wansel, The Neptunes, Kevin Randolph, Xaphoon Jones, Boi-1da and more. Lupe, Chris Brown, Pharrell, The Dream, Ross all make appearances.
Kanye, Swizzy, Pusha T, DJ Khaled, No I.D., and more were all in attendance. It was an emotional introduction from Big Sean as he was tearing up talking about his mother and how proud he was of this album. Post listening to the album Kanye jumped up on stage-grinning ear to ear- obviously proud of his protege. Big Sean shared the story of how he got invited to a Kanye listening party after free-styling for him, a hysterical story including impressions and all from Big Sean.
I was really impressed with Sean’s ability to stay humble. The album sounded great and I think he is one of the few artists that the people are actually actively waiting on.
