Kanye West has a lot of haters these days, but Big Sean had nothing but praise for him on RapFix Live yesterday. Big Sean was picked up by Kanye in 2007 and signed to his GOOD music label before signing with Def Jam in 2008. In an interview with MTV News he describes Yeezy as intimidating in the studio, but also as giving praise where praise is due:

“Being around a legend like that is nerve-racking. It seemed like everything I brought him he would always be like, ‘Man come on, you need to do better, you need to do this,’ like when I first signed to him. I was always nervous, like, ‘Dang, he’s going to drop me, he think I’m wack.’ But I worked hard and now when I bring him music he’s like, ‘You going to be the greatest man. Yes, I knew you had it in you.’ He’s definitely the most intimidating person I’ve ever been in the studio with.”

Big Sean did collaborate with Kanye on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and shared a funny memory of Kanye from the recording of the album in Hawaii:

“The atmosphere there was crazy… One of the funniest stories of all time was when Kanye was making a beat in front of everybody in the room. And he was making a beat, making a beat, and everybody was just tuned in, like, ‘Dang, Kanye making a beat,’ and he was like, ‘I know what you’re thinking, Yes, Kanye West is making a beat right now.’ He kids around a lot.”

All in all, Big Sean hasn’t got one bad word to say about his idol. Especially since Kanye drives his Mom around in his Maybach:

“People think he has like a stuck-up attitude or is an a-hole or whatever, but he’s really one of the most nicest people out the hood,” Sean maintained. “I always say, ‘What kind of a-hole would get me out the hood and ride my mom around in his Maybach?’ “
