Another impressive video offering from the Memphis upstart.

Memphis’ Blac Youngsta has rose to prominence thanks to his boisterous personality and impressive resolve. A man who has transcended a harrowing adolescence, Blac Youngsta channels his painful childhood memories into ardent music that revolves around his compromised perspective.

On Blac Youngsta’s most recent album, Fuck Everybody 2, he, as the title suggests, holds up a figurative middle finger to the individuals who have crossed or doubted him throughout his life. It’s a middle finger that is dynamically erected by the heavy chip weighing on his shoulder disguised as a defense mechanism for emotional preservation.

On the album’s closing track, “Breathe”, the 28-year-old rapper poignantly speaks on the turbulence around growing up the way that he and his friends did: the crime he saw, the lives that were lost, the hardened exterior that it provided Blac Youngsta. And, in classic Blac Youngsta fashion, he understands the importance of employing different art mediums to holistically contextualize a topic–and he did just that with the “Breathe” video.

Watch Blac Youngsta come to grips with his imperiled childhood on the cathartic “Breath” music video below:
