BROCKHAMPTON Notches Billboard 200’s Number-One Album Spot With ‘iridescence’

A big congrats goes out to BROCKHAMPTON.

Despite suffering turbulence due to foundational group member Ameer Vann’s departure, whose exit was demanded by the band because of sexual assault allegations, BROCKHAMPTON has adapted by achieving Billboard 200’s number-one album spot with iridescence.

According to Nielsen Music, iridescence moved 101,000 equivalent album units for the week ending on September 27th; 79,000 of them were from album sales. iridescence follows the group’s well-received Saturation trilogy, continuing the 14-member band’s tradition of strong album releases. Its recent induction into Billboard 200’s top-spot dethrones Eminem’s Kamikaze.

While the group’s future was unknown given Vann’s removal, their commercial success with iridescence proves that they’ve not only rebounded, they’ve actually improved: their previous highest-charting albums were Saturation II and Saturation III, who peaked at Nos. 57 and 15, respectively.
