Cee Lo Green has confirmed that he will playing Raekwon’s father in Rae’s upcoming biopic entitled C.R.E.A.M. via Twitter:
“News flash: I CEELO GREEN will be playing the “FATHER” OF RAEKWON THE CHEF in his new biography on his life! NOW THAT’S HIP-HOP for ya!”
Rae also confirmed the news with XXL, stating:
“Cee Lo Green [is] playing my pops in the film, Cee Lo is gon’ play Raekwon’s ol’ dad! [He’s] a good friend of mine. When I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He’s just one out of the greats that’s gonna be on the project.”
The Chef also said that he was considering Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids to play his younger self:
“Chuck of The Cool Kids, that’s my dude, good dude, but he’s still gotta go in for casting purposes to see if he really could make a debut in a great way”.
Raekwon is hoping for theater release with C.R.E.A.M., which is understandable considering the way the cast is shaping up:
“We’re definitely going for the theaters. The people that are gonna be involved with it definitely feel like it’s a great picture, and there’s a definite possibility it’s a Lions Gate film.”
As long as 50 Cent stays away from that casting room, C.R.E.A.M. is looking like it’s gonna be pretty damn good.
