The “Wake Me Up” singer, who brutally assaulted Rihanna back in 2009, addressed the night that changed everything while speaking to The Mirror. The incident left Rihanna with a black eye, swollen lip, and bite marks.
“That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake,” Brown told the UK publication. “But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven … but, yes, I worked hard for it. Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals,” he went on to say.
On Sunday night, at Elton John’s Oscars after-party, Brown went on to talk about his girlfriend, telling the New York Post’s Page Six, “we are really happy. We are back together. She is the most beautiful girl in the world…”
In February, Rihanna was Rolling Stone Magazine’s cover girl, and admitted that being with Brown fulfills her, even if the media is not accepting of their relationship.
“I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that,” she said. “Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
It seems the lovebirds have something special as last week, for Rihanna’s birthday, Brown flew to Hawaii to spend time with her. Rihanna posted a photo with her on-again beau, along with the caption “Pour it up pour it up! #birthdaybehavior.”
Just days prior, it was reported that Rihanna and Brown had allegedly broken up over text messages she sent to rapper Drake. “Chris and Rihanna had a big bust-up at the Grammys over Drake,” a source told The Sun. ”She was messaging him, and Chris saw, and it didn’t go down well. Since that night, they have barely spoken and have been doing their own things. For now, they have split up, but they will probably make up at some point.”
Drake and Rihanna are rumored to have had a brief fling before going their separate ways last year.
But it seems Rihanna and Brown are still going strong. Do you think they’ll last?
