Now that Common’s long-awaited album, “Finding Forever,” is finally in stores, the rapper is gearing up to hit the road. Although a possible bigger tour is in the works, Common has lined up several shows in September.

He’ll start out in San Francisco on September 5 and will tour until October 7 at the Nokia Theatre in New York. In an interview with MTV, Com said that even though he had some success with his last album, “Be”, that he wasn’t going to try and replicate it or try to come out with ringtone hits with “Finding Forever.”

"I don’t feel a burden," he told MTV.com. "I feel it’s adult. That’s my sole purpose. I ain’t afraid of it, I ain’t trying to stray from it, I embrace it. I know with all the conscious music, there’s going to be music where I battle MCs like I did on ‘The Game,’ getting at ’em. I’mma make songs [while] having fun. That’s what I’m about. The biggest thing I gotta do is be myself, that’s what MCing is about. That’s one of the most important things with being a MC: be you."

Here’s the current itinerary for his tour:
