Def Jam Does Something Smart!

I always try to show two sides to every story.  I recently shat on Def Jam’s existence, so it’s only fair that I give them some shine for the good moves they make.  Enter Big K.R.I.T., who is Def Jam’s newest signee.  In a day and age of bubble gum whack rappers getting all the glory, it’s nice to see a small town Mississippi rapper who says some real sh*t come out with a win.  K.R.I.T. Wuz Here dropped, and it left the consumer with an ideal reaction.  It was different and refreshing.  When you hear a Big K.R.I.T song you know it’s a Big K.R.I.T. song.  And, unfortunately that is something that not a lot of rappers do anymore.

I’m just happy that Def Jam recognized that and deiceded to invest in him in a less than ideal climate for the music business.  Check this footage of Big K.R.I.T, Shipes (Cinematic Music Group), and Sha Money XL (A&R at Def Jam) as they sign the contract in Def Jam’s offices as well as this fire track that K.R.I.T just dropped.  Also be sure to check my interview with Big K.R.I.T.  Finally shouts to K.R.I.T for always grinding and never giving up on his dream.  After meeting him I realized that he became a rapper for THE RIGHT REASONS.  To share his art and ideas with the world.  That’s something I can never be mad at.
