Are they out off their mind. Jay z is the paramount reason for def Jam’s lack of success. Every since Jay Z has been president he has done nothing but promote his-self and take credit of his co-workers work. It is documented. I believe that Def Jam figures that as long as Jay Z is still prestegeous in the marketplace then they will also be noticed. Yes Def jam might get noticed, but that type of thinking could be its demise. Hire qualified people, and learn from the presidents mistakes.

Actually since Jay-Z’s hire and as a Subsidiary of UMG Defjam has had a better run in Hip hop then interscope or Atlantic so I think Jay-Z pushing it but, he does have some merit at his position. Since 2005 Def Jam has consistently outsold its competitors in opening week numbers
