Dr. Dre: “Detox Will Finally Drop This Year”

Dr. Dre (briefly) discussed / confirmed that “Detox” will finally be released in 2010.  Sitting along side Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine during an interview with CNBC, the Dr. spent most of his time discussing Beats by Dr Dre. headphones, before giving a bit of info on the release of “Detox.”  Dre said that he’s hoping the first single from the album will drop in the next few weeks, followed by a full-scale release and promotional tour.  Almost equally as interesting though, was Iovine‘s discussion of the development of an on-demand, streamable music for a small subscription fee.  I gotta say, I’m pretty excited to see what direction Iovine and other progressive thinkers in the business take the music business in.  Peep the video of Dre and Iovine on CNBC below.
