Even though Drake preemptively reported sales of a million plus units in June, the Canadian born rapper’s debut album, Thank Me Later, officially reached platinum status this weekend.  As of today, Drake’s debut outing has moved 1,086,000 units domestically.  Believe it or not, Drake has fared even better in his homeland, where Thank Me Later went platinum within its first week on the charts.  This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s followed the young superstar’s rise to stardom…best of luck to Drake in his future endeavors.
