Looks like Willie D of the iconic Southern rap group The Geto Boys might be in for quite a long state vaca. The Houston rapper was arrested this week as he returned from a trip for running a mobile phone scam. Allegedly Willie D had set up his own cell phone store which specialized in IPhones and was supposed to be shipping them all over the world to a variety of folks who had innocently parted with their money once they received a tracking number. Of course the package was never delivered and the company then claimed to be having issues with USPS. However within a matter of weeks all communication with the company and the purchasers ceased and obviously people started getting a lil upset and the complaints began. I mean I know we are in a recession and times are hard, but ripping folks off when you have a bit of a profile isn’t a good look.
If convicted Willie D could face up to 20 years behind bars and a fine of up to $250,000.
