Black Entertainment Television (BET) has embarked on a quest to discover the next great gospel music sensation. “Sunday Best,” the network’s new gospel singing competition show premiered on Tuesday, October 2. A group of twenty hopefuls were selected after the first cut. The show, which is hosted by the legendary Kirk Franklin, is probably BET’s atonement for all their programming sins.

The Top 5 finalists will earn the title of Sunday Best, while the winner will receive a recording contract, in addition to a 2008 Toyota Camry and a $300,000 Tide Loads of Hope prize package. You can catch encore broadcasts of the show on Fridays at 10 pm ET and Sundays at 11 am and 8 pm ET.
