Sad day for hip-hop. In addition to his legendary music, Heavy D pioneered that overweight lover swag and made it possible for MC’s like Biggie and Pun to be as successful as they were. According to TMZ Heavy D whose real name was Dwight Myers passed away in L.A. earlier today after being rushed to the hospital for reasons that are unknown at this time. Heavy D recently performed for the first time in fifteen years at the BET awards last month. More on this story as it develops. RIP Heavy D.
