This can’t come as any surprise really, the fact that Russell Simmons and his Hip-Hop Summit Action Network are planning a huge event down in DC for the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. The event which is a black tie event is being sponsored by Heineken and MySpace Music and is being hosted by three of Hip-Hop’s finest who encouraged the youth to get out and make a change in this years historic election.
TI, LL Cool J and Young Jeezy were all selected by Russell to host the event which is taking place on the 19th of January in the capital. It is expected that up to 5 million people may descend on the nation’s capital for the inauguration which takes place on January 20th. Hotels are booked solid and people in and around the DC area have been offered up to $10,000 to rent out their homes for that week.
