There were no hip-hop artists that won any MTV Music Video awards last night, but there were sure a lot in the videos that won. Video of the Year went to Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” which features Jay-Z, Male Artist of the Year went to Justin Timberlake, whose hits “My Love” and others featured T.I. and were produced by Timbaland and Female Artist of the Year Fergie’s hits included appearances from Ludacris and will.i.am.
The show featured performances from Rihanna, Common, Kanye West, T.I., 50 Cent, Lil Wayne with Fallout Boy, and several others. Probably the most memorable moment was 50 Cent and Kanye West presenting the Most Shattering Collaboration award just days before they go head-to-head in record stores.
