There’s a certain formula to follow if you want to make a name and a career for yourself in Hip-Hop. First, you have to get your buzz up; and you do that by releasing mixtapes. The more material you release to the people, the more they can catch onto your movement, and hopefully, you start to climb that ladder of success. But that ladder of success also depends on whom you have hosting that mixtape, and if DJ Drama isn’t hosting it, then you have a lot of work to do.

It’s no secret that Mr. Thanksgiving’s Gangsta Grillz brand has headlined some of the most popular mixtapes in Hip-Hop, with the most recent being Meek Mill’s Dream Chasers 2, which has been downloaded well over 3 million times. But besides having the Internet in a frenzy, the Philly-born Atlanta resident has his own catalog of albums.

His current project that is set to drop is Quality Street Music, which boast an array of guest appearances, the kind you’ve come to expect from a DJ Drama extravaganza. We were able to catch up with him while he had some quick time off from the Dreams & Nightmares Tour to talk about his upcoming record, mixtapes with no DJ’s, and plenty more.
