The ongoing Hollywood writers strike may affect some of your favorite reality shows, but Irv Gotti’s Vh-1 series, Gotti’s Way, will soldier on. Gotti has been promoting the show aggressively in an effort to launch a comeback to the music industry. During a media stop at Complex magazine, the Murder Inc founder addressed some hot button topics, including sagging CD sales and rumors of a sexual relationship with Ashanti.

Gotti blamed the Internet for declining rap sales. “Look at the sales. Look at "Ay Bay Bay." That was the biggest song in the f**king country and he did 20 f**king-thousand units,” said Gotti in the Complex interview. “This is the music business that we’re in. The Internet has totally taken the music business and stuck a big fat d**k in it’s a** and now it’s f**ked it.”

He added that even a big shot like Inc rival 50 Cent is feeling the brunt of bad sales.  “It’s tough for everyone. 50 just now went over platinum. I know he’s sitting back like ‘What the f**k is going on?’ He’s going to bottom out at like a million-two.”

Gotti also seized the opportunity to debunk rumors that he had an affair with R&B singer Ashanti. “Why’s everyone saying I slept with Ashanti? Because Wendy Williams is saying it? Wendy Williams says a bunch of crazy shit. That’s what she does. So on that note, next question. I never said that I slept with her.”

The next episode of Gotti’s Way airs on Vh-1 Saturday Nov. 10 at 12:30 AM EST. The show traces the comeback of a fallen rap exec and a family man.

  1. Wtf….Granted Limewire and filesharing is a Major factor….but also the artist aren’t putting out the quality album that they used to when was the time you actually listen to an album all they way through…yall spoiled the comsumer with this fo fo shit

  2. Limewire? That shit is so 1999! Pirate Bay, Mininova and Isohunt is the spotz. But you are right about cats making weak music. Technology has made it possible for every high school dropout to think they are a rapper or producer when most of them should be cleaning my rims for me or getting fries for my combo meal. There is no quality control in hip hop now days. Irv ain’t got room to talk…..that new Ja single is trash.

  3. The last ablum I listened to all the way though was Chamillionaire’s Ultimate Victory (in stores now). That ablum was the shit son! But I concour about everybody else putting out trash, have you heard that Eminem flow…TRASH

  4. I agree with yall for the most part..Ja I was cool with him until whole singing and Pac thing… that ended it for me,some of this artist are just flooded the industry with bullshit…and it’s getting diffcult to weed out the real cause i dont have the patience
man….now as far Eminem….I can’t front was watching footage from Scribble Jam not many people can do what he did so we can just agree to disagree on that lol

  5. Which Scribble Jam, dosent matter there both old. Im talking about his recent freestyle he put out. TRASSSH, I dont care how good you “WERE” if you cant stay consistant it doesnt matter. A matter a fact everything coming from SHADY RECORDS is lame now off days (with exception to Obie and D12) other than that….when was the last time you heard anything good come from there???

  6. Now that I will agree with you on…cause the fire they started with slowly died(after the constant beefing and the walking contradiction(50cent)…Now Obie is hell…and they sleeping on him….his album always get eclipse bye the shit 50 is doing.
