Jamie Foxx was this years guest at the 2010 Fidelity Future Stage Music Program. The Fidelity Future Stage Music Program is a annual ceremony designed to support the musical and arts programs of public schools. The event was held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in California.

The event, which included a 100-member performance ensemble from the Renaissance Arts Academy, plus 400 local high school students connected more than 1,500 high school students via satellite from Boston’s Symphony Hall, the Houston Symphony’s Jones Hall and Chicago’s Kenwood Academy.

The high schools students, in attendance wore a black a T-shirt that said Fidelity Future Stage. T-shirts wasn’t the only thing given to the talented students over $100,000 in instruments were given to the local students in attendance and $500,000 in instruments would be given out nation wide.

The already excited students got even more pumped up once Jamie came out singing  “Blame it on the ah-ah-ah-ah-apple juice”  I guess he didn’t want to promote under age drinking. Jamie told the students that before he was big time, he was just a kid with a piano.

And if was not for his piano he would not have been able receive a scholarship to United States International University where he studied classical music and composition. Jamie told the L.A Times after the ceremony….

“Music is one of the most incredible things that you can give a kid….. People don’t understand, the music that they’re playing is complicated…..I remember when I was 15, I was goofy, goofy, goofy! I was goofy. These kids are serious musicians. And it’s great that they’ve been given this opportunity to perfect that craft.”
