iHipHop AdminEA Sports, Reebok and Champs Sports have come together to make Jay-Z a playable character in EA Sports’ NBA Live 07 exclusively for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. The catch is you have to buy a pair of Reebok’s S. Carter Basketball IV shoe only at Champ’s Sports, which hits stores on October 11, to get a special code to unlock Jay-Z’s character in the game.
"I always want to reach out to people in new and ground breaking ways and this collaboration with Reebok and EA does that by combining several things important to me: basketball, gaming and footwear," Jay-Z said. "NBA Live has always been one of my favorite games and I’m excited to play the latest edition and to be a part of it."
Jay-Z’s character in the game is a bit of a fantasy. It’s modeled after a combination of some of his favorite players: Allen Iverson’s baseline to baseline quickness, Baron Davis’ above-the-rim hops, and Peja Stojakovic’s downtown shooting ability; making Jay-Z one of the most skilled characters in the game. The code also unlocks Jay-Z’s S. Carter All-Stars squad and a special S. Carter/Rbk basketball court.
