delpotroJuan Martin Del Potro defeated 5-time defending U.S. Open Champion Roger Federer yesterday to become the 2009 Open champion.  The 20-year-old Argentinian came from behind twice, punishing Federer with his 100 mph forehand.  Making the most of his first Major tournament final, Del Potro looked calm throughout, as the normally zen-like Federer was the one who lost his composure as the match went along, racking up the unforced errors and swearing at the referees.  After 2,200 days without losing a match at the Open, Federer finally met his match in Flushing.  Congrats to Del Potro on an excellent tournament, beating both Federer and Rafa Nadal in consecutive days is just icing on top of the cake.
