Next year, Epic/Legacy Records and Michael Jackson will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Thriller”, the best-selling album of all time. The album has currently sold over 104 million copies worldwide and continues to sell at least 60,000 copies a year. To celebrate, Epic Records will be releasing a special edition on February 8 that will feature remixes and contributions from Kanye West, Akon and will.i.am.
Here’s what you get with the special edition: a Kanye remix of "Billie Jean"; Akon and Will.I.Am’s remake of "Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ "; "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T." remixes by Will.I.Am; the rare and unreleased song "For All Time," which was recently mixed and mastered by MJ; "Someone in the Dark"; "Carousel"; and the original "Billie Jean" demo. The edition will also come with a DVD with Jackson’s Thriller videos,— "Thriller," "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" — as well as his performance of “Billie Jean” on 1983’s "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever" TV special.
