Kanye West and his family issued a statement yesterday, regarding the sudden death of his mom Dond West:
“Kanye West, his family and friends would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and kind words that have come in from across the country since the death of his mother, Dr. Donda West.”
As we previously reported, 58-year old Donda West was pronounced dead on Saturday, Nov. 11. Dr. Jan Adams, a plastic surgeon who claims he performed liposuction and breast reduction on Dr. West, told TMZ that he did nothing wrong. Adams speculated that her death may have stemmed from other health concerns, namely “a heart attack, a pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting.”
Another plastic surgeon named Andre Aboolian claims that West had approached him about having a cosmetic surgery, but he declined because he was worried about a pre-existing health problem she had.
Donda West was an educator for more than three decades. In 2004, she left her position as Head of the English Department at Chicago State University to manage Kanye’s career. West’s influence on her son’s life was profound, and Kanye often dedicated rhymes to her.
Once again, our condolences go out to the West family.
