Kanye West, Beyonce Score Multiple VMA Nods

      It’s already that time of year where MTV takes over a city to hand out little astronaut statues. The event goes down on September 9 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The nominees were announced this week along with a couple of new awards that includes Male Artist of the Year / Female Artist of the Year which recognizes the artist’s complete body of work throughout 2007, Most Earthshattering Collaboration which recognizes the best teaming of creative minds in 2007, Monster Single of the Year — awarded to that unavoidable super smash that you just can’t get outta your head and the Quadruple Threat award which honors those boundary-busting artists who have conquered multiple worlds including, but not limited to; music, fashion, philanthropy, business, acting and dance.

      Justin Timberlake and Beyonce top the list with the most nominations at seven with Kanye West and Rihanna scoring five nominations. Kanye and Rihanna are also slated to perform at the awards show alongside Timbaland, Chris Brown, Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Foo Fighters. Here’s the full list of nominees:
