Welcome back, Kevin Gates.
It’s been a long wait, but finally, Kevin Gates has ended his palpable hiatus with his first project since 2017’s By Any Means 2, with his new EP, Chained To The City.
Albeit a quasi tease given the short tracklist consisting of only three-songs, it’s a powerful representation of Gates’ changing perspective, which has been heavily influenced by his recent incarceration and current travel ban. Currently, Kevin Gates is not allowed to leave the state of Illinois, forbidding him from visiting family and touring. However, as art always does, this pain and anguish has produced a fantastic product; it’s encouraged one of Gates’ more vulnerable projects.
