Well, well, well DJ Khaled looks to be getting his foot in the door over at Def Jam. The ‘DJ’ was appointed Head of Def Jam south by LA Reid this week and will be responsible from projects from artists such as Ludacris and of course Rick Ross. Of course the We the Best ego gave himself a lil more credit than he probably deserves when talking to MTV about the appointment saying “L.A. [Reid] just hit me one day. He was like, ‘We should bring Khaled on board. He makes hits, he has relationships.’ I got a team of producers and we go in hard. My job is to bring hits to the table and work with new artists and work with established artists. I’m bringing new energy to the game and to the building.”
How long we giving him? I say a year tops before his ass is dust. Longevity is not a word associated with many labels now unless you are from the same generation as Lyor, Kevin or Jimmy.
