So Wayne‘s never ending quest for it to be socially acceptable for him to do cocaine countinues with the announcment that he will be dropping a rock influenced album on April 7th called The Rebirth. There are some rappers out there that could pull off a hardcore rock/rap crossover and Weezy is not one of them. Below is the download of the first track released of the album. It’s called “Prom Queen” and it’s terrible. Part of me was secretly hoping that Wayne was going to stop drinking permethizine and ripping coke all day, and that he was going to bring back that Tha Carter II, The Dedication II, The Drought III swagger back, but it appears as if that isn’t going to materialize. Weezy has officially joined the ranks of the plastic people. Enjoy.
