Lupe Fiasco is currently touring in New Zealand and stopped by One News for an interview.  After talking about how he was flipped the bird during his whole set the first time he performed in New Zealand, Lupe discusses his upcoming album, Lasers.  He says that he had to make “some industrial compromises” to get the album released on Atlantic, “but one you get beyond that, it’s controversial…subversive, revolutionary, but at the same time fun, enlightening, [and] lighthearted.”  That’s quite an overdone and ambiguous description of what the album will sound like.  So it has a few pop records on it, but once you get beyond that, it’s “revolutionary“?  He also said that a lot of the songs are “popular, not pop.”  Lupe then went on to brag talk about all of his accomplishments including the nine Grammy nominations and multiple Ferrari’s in his driveway.

By the way, the Lasers album cover is above…it hits stores March 8th
