After recently getting sued by Lord Finesse for $10 million, Mac Miller has been bombarded by yet another similar lawsuit, this time from artist Warm Speakers.
Warm Speakers, real name Patrick Berlinquette, is suing Mac for $10 million for sampling his song “The World Around You” in “F*ck ‘Em All” (listen to both below), and not crediting or compensating him. Berlinquette claims that Mac
“…uses other people’s music because it’s easier, cheaper, and faster than creating his own. Miller seeks to capitalize on the common misconception in Copyright Law that people whose music he takes have no remedy if he gives their music away for free.”
Berlinquette stated that he feels “irreparably harmed, suffered damage, and defendants have profited in an amount to be determined at trial.”
