Mannie Fresh’s Sister Allegedly Killed in New Orleans

      A newlywed mother of two, Angela Bryant, was found gunned down in her Algiers, New Orleans, home while her young children were inside. Bryant is the sister of well known hip-hop producer and former Cash Money Records member Mannie Fresh (aka Byron O. Thomas

      Authorities say that the 41-year-old woman was found dead in her home in the 1000 block of Farragut Street around 8 a.m. Thursday from an apparent gunshot wound, although police believe she was shot sometime late Wednesday evening.

      Family members told investigators that the family had dinner together in a restaurant Wednesday evening to celebrate Bryant’s birthday. Her husband was reportedly out of town at the time of the tragic incident, but wasted no time in making his way back to New Orleans yesterday.

      Mannie Fresh is also said to have left Texas to return to New Orleans.

      Investigators are yet to determine whether the incident was a home invasion or if Bryant was familiar with her assailants. “We’ve not drawn any conclusions,” said Assistant New Orleans Police Superintendent Marlon Defillo to WWLTV. “We’ve not made any elimination. As the day progresses, we hope to learn more, but it’s a work in progress.”
