According to Billboard, Missy Elliot has signed an endorsement deal with Doritos chips to promote their new flavor, Doritos Collision. In a commercial that will air on Sept. 17, Missy is working on a new track and then stops to snack on Doritos Collisions chips. Because of the two different-tasting chips in the same bag, Missy is inspired to make a song with two different styles. She then creates a hip-hop track with a country feel.
"The whole idea of the mash-up is so prevalent and popular in music today," Elliott’s manager, Mona Scott of Violator Management, told Billboard. "It’s so Missy. And the fact that the campaign takes place in a studio means that Missy remains in her element, which makes the whole thing authentic."
Fans of Missy can visit SNACK STRONG PRODUCTIONS and create their own “mash-up” using Missy’s track from the commercial. Mixes can then be posted on the gallery and the best five mixes will win prizes that have yet to be announced.
